- You need to look at the subject.
If the subject is Singular (he, she, it), use (is)
He is a teacher

If the subject is (I), use (am)
I am an engineer.
If the subject is Plural (they, we, you), use (are)
They are tired
We are happy
You are a hardworking student
How should we use the negative form of Verb to BE?
You just need to add (not) after (am, is, are).
They are (not) tired.
He is (not) sad.
The book is (not) in the bag.
How should we use the question form of Verb to BE?
You need to start the question with the present of verb to be:
Is he a doctor? – Yes, he is/ No, he is not.
Are they students? – Yes, they are/ No, they are not.
Is the book on the table? – Yes, it is/ No, it is not.
