A quick note: This novel, ‘It Starts With Us,’ was published after ‘It Ends With Us.’ If you have not read ‘It Ends With Us,’ here is the link for you to get it. If you have not read the first book, ‘It Ends With Us,’ I advise you to read it or at least get the summary before reading ‘It Starts With Us’ to avoid getting confused with the storyline.

So, let’s dive into the analysis of ‘It Starts With Us.’

Colleen Hoover’s “It Starts With Us” is an engaging story that dives into the complexities of relationships, love, and self-discovery. The plot revolves around likable characters whose lives become intertwined in unexpected ways, and it delves into topics such as forgiveness, resilience, and the power of personal growth. Colleen Hoover’s writing is noted for its emotional depth and ability to build authentic and relatable characters, both of which are present in this story. “It Starts With Us” is a thought-provoking and emotionally charged narrative that will keep readers engaged from start to finish, making it a must-read for fans of contemporary literature and romance with a strong emotional core.

This novel’s characters are delightfully flawed and feel incredibly real. They struggle with their own personal issues and make life-changing decisions, taking the reader on an emotional rollercoaster. Readers are drawn further into their lives and emotions as the layers of their stories are peeled back, building a powerful connection with the characters.

“It Starts With Us” is a dramatic and emotionally packed love story that emphasizes the significance of human growth, healing, and making atonement for mistakes made in the past. It’s a novel about the complexities of human relationships, reminding us that love isn’t always perfect, but it can be a force for redemption and development. Colleen Hoover’s storytelling ability shines through in this gripping and unforgettable story.

Well, the events in the book are very transparent, as they help the readers visualize the reality of domestic violence. It describes the harsh reality that even after escaping from a domestic violence situation, the journey to healing is far from over, involving intense mental, physical, and emotional recovery, especially when the abuser is also the father of your child.

This constant battle, however, leads to a realization that happiness can be found again, as Lily finds with the patient and caring Atlas by her side, reminding her that she deserves love.

Not to forget the introduction of new characters, Theo and Josh, who add depth to the story. I particularly enjoyed learning more about them, and Theo’s humor is absolutely entertaining. It warms my heart to see Atlas providing Josh with the family foundation he has longed for.

Honestly, the writer has such a way of immersing us into the characters’ lives, making us (or at least me) deeply invested in their safety and happiness. Even after the story ends, I find myself wondering about their lives. While not everyone may agree with the ending, I am personally happy that Lily and Atlas were given a second chance at love and now lead a fulfilling life together.

So, what about you? I would love to know more about your thoughts 😉
